CSIR-SARI RELEASE HYBRIDS MAIZE THROUGH MAIZE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME : The Savanna Agricultural Research Institute (SARI) of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research is mandated to provide farmers in the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions with appropriate technologies to increase their food and fibre crop production based on a sustainable production system which maintains and/or increases soil fertility.

PROJECT TO CONVERT WASTE INTO RENEWABLE ENERGY IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS : The Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), will this year, roll out a national programme that seeks to convert human waste of 800 senior high schools into renewable energy sources.

The Director-General of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Dr Victor Agyeman, has spoken against the notion that many of the country’s research findings are gathering dust on shelves.While it is the generally held belief that development efforts are being held back by the lack of appreciation for the work done by the country’s research institutions, Dr Agyeman said the lack of connection between research and development was due to the weaknesses of the private sector.

COTVET SUPPORTS CSIR TO TRANSFER MODERN PLANT EXTRACTION : The relevance of science research and technology to national development cannot be taken lightly.   There is a general consensus that science research is paramount to promoting environmental sustainability, wealth creation, better human health, food security and overall good governance.

Management members of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on Monday paid a courtesy call on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), to discuss areas where they could collaborate.
